TO CELEBRATE ITS 25 YEAR REUNION, THE BIG RED LINE CHEERLEADERS ARE ORGANIZING A MASSIVE ART COMPETITION OPEN TO ALL ST LOUIS CITY AND COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT AGES 16-18. To encourage students in their pursuit of art and to encourage community support of art programs in our schools, the Big Red Line Cheerleaders Alumni is inviting local high school student ages 16-18 years to submit original art work of the Big Red Line Cheerleaders for the purpose of finding a student to lead a team of fellow artists in the creation of a e-comic book about the Big Red Line Cheerleaders which will be released for free in PDF format July 3, 2013. This competition provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the talent of high school students, the importance of art programs for young adults, and our on-going commitment to the city and county of St Louis Missouri. We invite each high school student ages 16-18 that lives and attends school in the St Louis City or County limits, to compete. If you are unsure if you reside and attend school in the St Louis City or County limits, please contact our PR Team for verification. All entries must be drawn (in any format), but send to our PR Team digitally as a .gif, .png, .tif, or .jpg and must be relatively recent, dating no further back than 1 January 2012. All entries are given to the Big Red Line Cheerleaders Alumni under the 'Creative Commons License' (no monetary compensation), giving the Big Red Line Cheerleaders Alumni rights to use or distribute the submitted artwork. Entrants: * Must be between 16-18 years of age to enter. * Are required to live within the St Louis City or St Louis County limits. * Attending a public, private or homeschool in St Louis City or St Louis County. * Maintaining a C or higher grade average. Judges: Judges will be members of the Big Red Line Cheerleaders Alumni Committee. Judging Criteria: * Life-Like Characters * Creativity * Close Variations of any Big Red Line Uniforms (Pictures can be found in our gallery). Prizes: First Place * First place winner will be given the position of lead artist for an original e-comic book to be created by the winner and a team comprised of the second and third place winner under the guidance of a Big Red Line Alumni member and local artists, topic is the history/adventures of the Big Red Line. First, Second, Third Place * First place winner and this team will be given creativity acknowledgements and a bio spot on the Big Red Line Cheerleaders Alumni contest page. * First place winner and this team will be part of the web-series being developed which will air on the Big Red Line Cheerleaders Alumni website and YouTube. * First place winner and this team will each receive a letter of recommendation addressed to the winner’s school of choice from the Big Red Line Cheerleaders Alumni. * First place winner and this team will have full rights to use the finished e-comic book for their personal portfolios.
